About Project
The Flyover Edge Protection Barrier Project was completed to enhance vehicle safety and prevent accidental edge departures on an elevated flyover corridor. The project involved installation of galvanized W-Beam crash barrier systems along the outer edges of the flyover structure to provide reliable impact containment and long-term roadway protection.
Since the installation area consisted of reinforced concrete flyover foundations, base plate mounted steel posts were used instead of conventional ground-driven posts. Each post was accurately positioned and securely fixed using heavy-duty anchor fasteners to ensure structural stability and compliance with highway safety standards.
The complete installation process focused on precise alignment, proper load distribution, corrosion-resistant components, and continuous quality inspection to deliver dependable edge protection for high-speed traffic movement.
Our Client’s Challenge
The project required installation on an active flyover structure where maintaining traffic flow and ensuring worker safety were critical challenges. Limited working space, elevated construction conditions, and precise anchor positioning requirements increased execution complexity throughout the project.
Achieving perfect barrier alignment across long bridge stretches while maintaining structural integrity demanded accurate surveying, controlled installation procedures, and continuous inspection at every stage. The project also required minimizing disruption to public traffic during execution.
Our Approach And Solution
The Flyover Edge Protection Barrier Project required a specialized installation method suitable for reinforced concrete bridge structures. Detailed layout marking, centerline verification, and anchor positioning were completed before installation to ensure accurate barrier alignment along the flyover edge.
Steel posts equipped with galvanized base plates were mounted directly onto the concrete foundation using heavy-duty anchor fasteners. After securing the post assemblies, W-Beam crash barrier sections, spacer blocks, and fastening components were installed with precise bolt tightening and continuous alignment checks. Final inspection and structural verification were conducted to ensure long-term durability, impact resistance, and roadway safety performance.
- Accurate flyover edge barrier alignment and anchor positioning
- Base plate mounted post fixing using heavy-duty fasteners
- Final structural inspection, bolt verification, and safety testing
Project Execution Process
The Flyover Edge Protection Barrier Project was executed through a systematic workflow focused on structural accuracy and roadway safety. Initial activities included site inspection, alignment marking, anchor location identification, and verification of the flyover concrete foundation.
After completion of anchor fixing operations, base plate mounted steel posts were installed and level checked. Galvanized W-Beam crash barrier sections were then assembled and connected using approved fastening systems while maintaining continuous alignment throughout the flyover stretch.
Regular inspection, bolt torque verification, and quality monitoring were carried out during the execution process to ensure long-term durability, structural reliability, and effective vehicle containment performance before successful project handover.
